Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, Paraggi and Rapallo are among the most iconic places in the world, and they live up to every photograph. We know this coast well: it's a short drive from our home in Piedmont, and we have planned many celebrations here.

Days Filled with the Best of Liguria
Between the welcome dinner and the farewell, we design days your guests will talk about for years: foodie tours through the markets and focaccerie, wine tastings from the terraced vineyards of Liguria, and boat tours along the coast to hidden coves and villages reachable only by sea. There are also beach days at the most exclusive beach clubs, such as Carillon in Paraggi, the tiny emerald bay just outside Portofino.
When to Celebrate: Our Honest Advice
Timing matters on the Riviera more than almost anywhere else in Italy.
Late May and June are ideal. The weather is beautiful, the sea is inviting, and the towns still feel like themselves.
July, August and September bring peak tourism. Expect crowds, busy narrow roads and heavy traffic. Celebrations are absolutely possible in these months, but they require even more careful planning.
Beyond Portofino: The Cinque Terre
Further south, the Cinque Terre offer a wilder, more rugged kind of beauty: five villages clinging to cliffs above the sea, connected by footpaths and terraced vineyards. We know this area well and have planned celebrations here too, for couples who want the Riviera's charm with a more adventurous, authentic spirit.

Planning a Wedding in Portofino: Your Questions, Answered
May and June are ideal: beautiful weather and fewer crowds. July, August and September are peak tourist months, with heavy traffic on the narrow coastal roads, so they require especially careful planning.
Portofino is at its best for intimate, multi-day celebrations with a smaller group of guests. Its compact size creates a wonderful sense of togetherness, while limited space and access make very large events more complex.

For an intimate celebration of around 50 guests, most weddings we plan in Portofino and the Italian Riviera begin at approximately €80,000 in total investment for the wedding day celebration. The final figure depends primarily on guest count, venue, and the length of the celebration.
